I moved to the US from North Yorkshire (England) ten years ago .
I left my career as a Registered Dietitian ( specializing in diabetes and cardiovascular disease ) and trained to teach yoga instead .
I trained with Stan Andrzejewski of Greater Baltimore yoga under his yoga teacher apprentice program .
I have been teaching yoga for six years and enjoy attending study weekends and immersions to enhance my own practice and understanding and refine my teaching skills .
In this way I have studied with Victor van Kooten , Kofi Busia , Donna Fahri, Doug Keller and Roger Cole.

I have been practicing yoga for over 30 years and really enjoy having the chance to pass on what I know and understand to students in groups or in private classes.

Miriam was born and raised in Ireland and has been living in Baltimore since 1997. Her background is in theater, communications and language teaching but from 2003-2013 her role changed to being one of full-time caregiver. Immediately following the birth of her daughter, Miriam’s mother-in-law had a massive stroke and Miriam and her husband became responsible for her care. This involved moving her from Germany to live with them in Baltimore. During this time, due to stress and injuries, Miriam’s yoga practice shifted from being very high energy and vinyasa-based to a gentler and more introspective hatha practice. Two years ago Miriam did a Reiki 1 level training with Bonnie Tarantino at the University of Maryland's Center for Integrative Medicine. She then completed Bonnie’s Healing Pathways course and also her Reiki 2 level training. As Miriam had experienced great benefit and healing from her own personal yoga practice, Bonnie encouraged her to consider doing the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training offered by the Center for Integrative Medicine led by Bonnie Tarantino and Nancy McPartland. Miriam complete the course in May of 2016, along with her Reiki Master certificate. She is currently enrolled in their 500 Hour Teacher Training Program. Miriam also teaches at the Yoga Gallery and Wellness studio in Towson. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist. She is thrilled to be a part of Tafiya Yoga & Wellness team at GBMC.
